PREPARED FRESH IN SMALL BATCHES BY KFC COOKS. THE COLONEL WOULD BE PROUD.
how kfc chicken is made
KFC uses real Canadian farm-raised chicken, because a local bird is a fresh bird.
Chicken is delivered fresh to KFC restaurants throughout the week.
Each individual piece of chicken is carefully inspected by a KFC cook.
SECRET BLEND OF HERBS & SPICES
Did you know that: The only copy of the Original recipe, signed by Colonel Sanders himself, is held within a vault in KFC’s Louisville headquarters along with eleven vials containing the herbs and spices!
HAND-BREADED IN SMALL BATCHES
Our fresh chicken is carefully hand-breaded and rolled 7 times in the secret blend of herbs and spices before being scooped and folded in the breading mix 7 times.
The chicken is then pressure cooked at a low temperature in high stability canola oil to preserve that great taste we’re known for around the world.
Did you know that: Colonel Harland Sanders used to pan fry the chicken himself, spending 30 minutes per order. In 1939, the pressure cooker was introduced to bring cooking times down to under 10 minutes.
READY TO EAT
Our chicken is kept warm in a warming cabinet until it’s ready to be enjoyed.
Did you know that: Chicken is kept for a maximum of 90 minutes and many additional fresh batches are cooked daily. KFC is committed to providing fresh chicken, prepared in small batches everyday.
*Chicken may be imported in select cases where supplies are required.
